The SDF has focused attention on early childhood development for a better sturdy foundation for a healthier and stronger generation. Under the ECD services, educational, health, and nutrition promotion programs for children between 01-05 years are in operation. - Baby healthcare clinics are on at Hikkaduwa. Dodanduwa, Galwehera, and Ahungalle.
- Nutrition awareness programs for mothers as well as nutrition supply programs are carried out parallel to the health clinics.
- The SDF has developed 80 pre schools in the Galle district providing basic infrastructure facilities.
- SDF carries out community based programs and build up awareness on early childhood development at urban and rural levels.
- SDF has constructed 14 new buildings for 14 pre schools and handed over recently.
- SDF has provided 07 children’s play parks, equipped with modern facilities, for the newly built pre schools.
- Launch a socio-economic development program centered around on 100 pre schools
